Terms of Service
Last updated July 17, 2026. Plain English where we can manage it — these terms govern every NameYarn service.
1. Who we are, what this covers
These terms are an agreement between you and NameYarn ("we", "us") covering domain name registration, email, web hosting, and the account panel at nameyarn.com. By creating an account or buying a service you agree to them.
2. Domain registrations
We register domains through accredited registrar and registry partners. Registrations are also subject to the relevant registry's policies and, for generic TLDs, ICANN's registrant rights and responsibilities.
You must provide accurate, current registrant contact information and keep it that way — inaccurate WHOIS data is grounds for suspension under ICANN policy. We'll email you when verification is required; ignoring those notices can suspend the domain.
3. Pricing and renewals — the whole yarn
The renewal price shown when you buy is locked to your order: your domain renews at that price (or lower, if our catalogue price drops) for as long as you keep it continuously registered with us. Auto-renew is on by default so nothing lapses; we email you 30, 14, 7, 3, and 1 day before charging, and you can turn auto-renew off with one click. Expired domains may enter a registry redemption period with additional recovery fees set by the registry.
4. Refunds
A brand-new registration can be cancelled within its registry grace period (usually five days) for a refund of the registration price minus the registry's deletion fee, issued as account credit — you can do this yourself from the panel. Renewals, transfers, and premium-priced names are non-refundable once processed, because the registry charges us either way. Hosting and mailbox plans can be cancelled within 14 days of first purchase for a full refund.
5. Transfers
You can transfer domains in and out at any time, subject to ICANN's 60-day rules around new registrations and recent transfers. Transfers in extend your registration by a year. We never hold your domain hostage: auth codes are available in the panel whenever transfer lock is off.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use our services for phishing, malware, spam, botnets, child sexual abuse material, or anything else illegal. We may suspend services that put other customers or the public at risk, and we respond to abuse reports at our abuse page. Where reasonably possible we'll notify you and give you a chance to fix the problem first.
7. Email and hosting
Mailbox and hosting plans have the storage and mailbox counts listed at purchase. They're for fair production use — not bulk sending or resource abuse. We back up hosting servers on a best-effort basis, but you're responsible for your own copies of your content.
8. Your account
Keep your password to yourself and turn on two-factor authentication (we'll keep nudging). You're responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us it's been compromised.
9. Liability
Our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us for the affected service in the twelve months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profits, lost data, lost sleep. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.
10. Changes and termination
We can update these terms; material changes get emailed to you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don't agree, you can transfer your domains out and close your account — we'll make that easy, not hard. Either side can end this agreement; your paid-up services run to the end of their term.
